Along with Deadpool, Daredevil, and V for Vendetta, Hellboy is one of the better "superhero" movies I´ve seen. Definitely recommendable:

It´s a pretty bizarre movie. Funny and extremely brutal and vile at the same time. You don´t see many movies where children are murdered while the protagonist explains why he usually doesn´t kill children and afterwards lectures the camera man in how many stones he should use to weight Down the body when they dumb it. I don´t know the comic, but I found the movie pretty damn great. One of the better superhero movies I´ve seen. I hear the original Cinema version wasn´t that great, but the director´s cut that I watched, was quite enjoyable.

It didn´t impress me much either. I enjoy the final scene in the abandoned house though. That was pretty damn creepy.
