I was in a production of this when I was 15 (I played Crown Prince Chulalongkorn), but I'd never seen the movie. It's all a bit fucking boring really. Or maybe I'm biased because I hated doing it and it stressed me all to fuck having to sing solo (the couple of songs I did aren't in this version).

A film of the unfilmable. Love the craziness and the all star cast.

There are worse actions movies to zone out to than this one with The Stath, though I doubt it'd ever be worth a re-watch. I actually feel like I've seen the tail end of this before. It suddenly seemed very familiar from the point where Parker gets messed up after being jumped in his hotel room.

Bloody boring as far as musicals go. There are some very well known songs, particularly "You'll Never Walk Alone", but everything else is just meh. Louise's ballet is the only redeeming feature.

Another Kiwi classic. Hasn't aged particularly well, but Billy T. James is still a pleasure to watch.

Second watch. For a film with not much of a premise, this is really watchable. That is Hamaguchi's thing really.

New Zealand's first animated movie! Saw it at the movies when it first came out. I'd heard it hadn't aged well, but I didn't think it was too bad.

Big dumb noisy fun. In the best traditions of The Dirty Dozen and Kelly's Heroes, with a dash of Inglourious Basterds.

Not seen Snake in action for a lot of years. Apparently this was a big influence on William Gibson's Neuromancer.

Not as good as Threads, but better than I remembered. The bomb effects were a bit shit though.

This movie seemed so cool when I was a teenager. Watching it now it's... not.

For a film with no plot and no talking, this is incredibly engaging. And the Philip Glass soundtrack is mesmerising.

This film had such bad press I almost ignored it but it has Jessica Chastain leading an overall excellent cast and lo and behold while it can't be considered a masterpiece it's a really solid action spy flick. It won't blow you away but it will keep you entertained.

Very funny. A great look behind the scenes, if just a little sad.

I tend to love the giallo movies even though they have very much a B movie vibe. I just couldn't get invested in this one. I didn't feel it had the suspense I'd expect of a giallo.

^ I've seen all the ones you mentioned except that one Adam. I should see it but sounds like I'm not missing much.
