A fresh album from a Scottish band who decided to play somewhere in between the 70s classic hard rock and 80s melodic AOR may not introduce something inventive to the table, but here's another presentation of how talented bands created something purely what old rock fans are raving about - good melodies, good rhythm, good fun.
Among 14 tracks that were included in this album, I spotted a diverse variety in terms of arrangement, and some songs that I praised here are the opening track, 'Chance of A Lifetime'; the midtempo groove of 'Monalisa Smile'; the uplifting moment at 'Shout - I Wanna Hear You'; the nice riffs of a radio friendly tune, 'One Love', and three other songs in the second half, 'She's Got It' - check out the nice solos here!, 'Whatever It Is' and 'I'd Give It All' are pretty solid too.
There are bumpy moments too that I think should be left out or probably they're just not for me. The title track has some nice riffs but the chorus is kinda weak. 'Party' is thing you can let go easily while 'Rocker Lily' and 'Last Mohican' are among their lowest side here. 'Come Out To Play' tried to please both fans of different decades, which is usually aren't very friendly to each other. It's a risky approach, but I'm pretty sure they play something they really like and very good at. Good debut!
