Xiom was a progressive death metal / thrash metal band from Chemnitz in Saxony, Germany.

Originally formed as Argus, the band found some success in the DDR as the thrash metal band Moshquito.

In 2011, Moshquito changed its name to Xiom (a play on the word Axiom) and while retaining elements of its thrash metal sound, moved in a progressive death metal direction.

In 2017 Xiom reverted back to Moshquito.
