Witchbreed is a Portuguese gothic metal band, formed in 2006 by guitarist Dikk and bassist Ares. They were soon joined by singer Ruby Roque. In 2006 they released an EP titled Descending Fires. Shortly after, they added guitarist Filipe Sousa and drummer Tiago Lopes. In 2009 they released their full length debut Heretic Rapture.
Following the release of Heretic Rapture, Ruby took a break from the band, while the remaining members were asked to record the official soundtrack for a vampire novel book, short film and graphic novel project named “Nocturnus: Redemption”. The soundtrack was released as an EP titled In Memoriam Nocturnus, and featured many guests, including guest vocalist Sandrine Orsini, who filled in for Ruby.
In 2014, Ruby returned, and the band signed with Norwegian label Whispering Voices Records, announcing plans for two upcoming releases in the process: An EP titled Queen of Storms is scheduled for on
