Uprising Fomalhaut is a progressive / atmospheric sludge metal band from Kiev in Ukraine.
Uprising Fomalhaut’s founding members were guitarists Yuriy Nagorniy (Nice Wings Icarus!) and Mike, both of whom had played previously in emo-band Taste Of Tiramisu. Yuriy and Mike were later joined by Roman (bass), Nikita (drums) and Alexey (vocals).
Once together, Uprising Fomalhaut began working on their new material, and in 2010 released their self-titled debut EP. Shortly after releasing their EP, Mike decided to leave the band and Uprising Fomalhaut continued as quartet, occasionally using guest guitar players for live shows.
