Steel Assassin were originally active in the 80s, but never really released anything other than a couple of demos. It was only after that the band was reformed in 2005 that they started releasing albums. "WWII: Metal of Honor" is the band's third album (or their second, if you do not count "In Hellfire Forged" from 2009 as a proper album - that's really up to you).
Operating within a style of traditional heavy metal that lies somewhere between Iron Maiden, Accept and Judas Priest with a touch of power metal, Steel Assassin treats the listener to powerful riffs and galloping guitars galore but also plenty of melody. Melody is a central ingredient on this album, and most vocal melodies are catchy, big and memorable.
John Falzone's vocals are both raw and powerful and a perfect fit for Steel Assassin's energetic heavy metal As the title indicates, is lyrics on "WWII: Metal of Honor" deals with World War II, and, with songs about death and destruction, thundering drums, thumping bass, galloping guitars and larger-than-life vocal melodies, "Metal of Honor" is as appropriate a title as any.
