"The Coming Sixth Age" is the debut full-length studio album by Indonesian death metal act Panic Disorder. The album was released in 2011 by Rottrevore Records.
The band play a pretty straight forward type of death metal on this album. The growling vocals, which are pretty varied, are a bit too processed to my ears, but otherwise the band deliver a professional product. While the band are both aggressive and at times pretty brutal they are bit more sophisticated than the most standard death metal acts out there and incorporate both thrashy elements, what sounds to me like a lyrical concept and some decent musicianship. The sound production leaves as bit to be desired, but it´s allright and suits the music pretty well.
While "The Coming Sixth Age" certainly isn´t a revelation, less is sometimes enough. It´s a pretty decent death metal release and while the tracks generally lack a bit more memorable moments there are some pretty kickass sections here and there. A 3 star (60%) rating is warranted.
