Mike Albert began playing the guitar at the age of 9. By the age of 18 he began teaching the guitar professionally in Pasadena, CA where he met Eddie Van Halen and the two became fast friends. In 1978 Mike played with Frank Zappa’s “Reuben and the Jets” which was a great learning experience.
In 1985, Dave Mustaine, the leader of Megadeth was looking for another lead guitarist. Dave's reaction to Mikes playing was "...[It was like] blowing the top of my head off..." Mike was given the lead guitarist spot and after just 2 months of intense rehearsals they were off the KILLINGS MY BUSINESS TOUR. The tour took them through over 40 cities with co-headliners ANTHRAX, EXODOUS, and SLAYER.
Since leaving MEGADETH Mike has written countless original songs and has returned to recording sessions and sound tracks, including the Cheech and Chong movie "Nice Dreams", Tia Carreras Hostile
