ovidiu This album is an absolute masterpiece and 5 stars,for me,at least,are not enough to be offered !WITCH DANCE is the second album of the band led by MAGNUS KARLSSON,one of the most amazing guitar players and composers in today's metallic world!After a very promissing debut album-THE RITUAL-this 2-nd album of the band is a giant step forward for LAST TRIBE -an album with strong compositions and fantastic production!Power melodic metal ,with prog influences-this seems to be the best way to characterize this album,a true musical pearl with no weak compositions ,performed by some wonderful musicians-the guitar solos especially are stellar-out of this planet-Karlsson really shines on this album!Perfectly listenable from the first to the last note-very strong compositions and perfect balance between the uptempo and midtempo songs.AGADIR is an instrumental ,which proves at what level of maturity and science Karlsson was at that period of time.Other brilliant songs are DREAMER-WITCH DANCE-BEHIND YOUR EYES-MESSENGER-but all are trully fantastic!It's rare how such a high caliber album manage to have such catchy songs.A perfect production -crystal clear and powerful-where all the instruments sound perfect-what we could ask more?Together with THE UNCROWNED-this album is the highlight of LAST TRIBE musical trilogy-and it's difficult to choose the best one!Absolute masterpiece for sure!5 stars without any hesitation!

Stephen If you want to try a mix of traditional heavy metal, progressive flavor, lightning-fast guitar picking, soaring vocals, power metal style drumming, and melodic rock big chorus, then I won't recommend anything but "Witch Dance". The sophomore release of the highly skilled Swedish quartet, Last Tribe, is pretty much pictured the blend perfectly, from the high-register skyrocket singing and groundcrasher drumming, to the bombastic bass slapping and electrifying tense riffage. Among the four men behind the band, probably only Magnus Karlsson is the most famous musician, but the rest are also veteran players and executed their role flawlessly.

With Lowgren and Salazar filling in the spot to replace the departing Wallmark and Andersson, "Witch Dance" marked a boosted performance in songwriting and rhythm section department compared to their debut, "The Ritual", making this album simply their undefeatable champion. Songs like the title track or "Bring Out The Brave" opened the album with a monstrous arrangement and killer chorus, but when "Wash Your Sins Away" rolled in, you will be paralyzed with a thick combination of sparkling melodic metal and progressive tempo, and in my opinion, you can hear Karlsson's best solo delivery on this track. The other powerful tracks to watch are the uptempo "Man of Peace" with delirious chorus and crushing shred and the orgasmic closer of "Dreamer" with a superbly-constructed composition.

The production level is very good and to underline a rewarding experience on listening to the magnificent performance of the band playing a set of great tunes, "Witch Dance" is worth your hard-earned penny and probably one of the ultimate releases of 2002.

ovidiu Excellent debut album for LAST TRIBE,the band of MAGNUS KARLSSON,the fantastic Swedish musician which changed the face of melodic metal with some fabulous musical projects and albums composed for artists like ALLEN/LANDE...STARBREAKER...BOB CATLEY...TONY O HORA...and now PRIMAL FEAR!On this first LAST TRIBE album we feel the huge talent of the guitar wizzard and we have many excellent moments of pure magical metal feast!Uptempo and midtempo songs combined with catchy melodic lines that offer to the listener delightful moments of musical enchantment.Karlsson has an unique melodic sense and manage to combine in a very smart and inspired way classical metallic riffs with clever keyboard interventions and adding all the time a perfect melodic line,he's always preoccupied for a strong melodic line and that brings the quality of the compositions!FALLING is simply one of the best and sensitive metal ballad ever written!A very powerful album,very diverse and mature , a truly impressive debut and also mature compositions that will be ear candies for all true melodic metal fans everywhere!The cover is also excellent,all fans of Egypt will adore it!4.5 STRONG and well deserved stars for an impressive debut album!

ovidiu It seems that THE UNCROWNED has been the final LAST TRIBE album and that's a shame!Unfortunatelly,metal music machine MAGNUS KARLSSON had other priorities and wasn't able anymore to pursuit his career with thie band!Whan we think only at ALLEN/LANDE project,at STARBREAKER,BOB CATLEY -IMMORTAL album,TONY O HORA's solo album,PLANET ALLIANCE...we realise that this man was really busy at the time ,and it still is especially now when he's 100 % into PRIMAL FEAR metal band as full member!The legacy of LAST TRIBE is made of 3 great albums of high quality melodic metal,with superbe compositions-muscled and powerful,very intense guitar work and magnificent vocals!All tracks are so damn well structured and balanced ,vocals provided by an excelent frontman, with powerful riffs and great guitar solos!This man has an unique sense of composition and feeling ,it's imediately regognisable!THE UNCROWNED seems toi be more prog orientated,with more keyboards added and that's good,because the music gets a new dimension and monumentality! Definitelly recomandable for all melodic metal fans,this album is guaranteed to delight all pretentious metal amateurs ,hungry for melodic compositions,powerful vocals and great guitar parts!4.5 STARS for an excellent album!
