GIRUGÄMESH picture
Girugämesh was a Japanese nu metal/metalcore band from Chiba, formed in 2003. The band released their debut studio album, 13's Reborn, in 2006. After releasing five more albums, on May 2, 2016 the band announced that they would be disbanding after their final show at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo on July 10, 2016.

The band are perhaps most known for being referenced in a 2009 Sakura-Con commercial, which became a meme, where a man shouts "GIRUGAMESH" among others saying what they love about Japan.
