Sea of cheese...
Genre: power metal
This is the sort of power metal that I like. The power metal elements are there, but there is not a lot of instrument-wankery, epic choirs and effects, and not a lot of pretentious pompuousness. There are some cheesy ballads and some pseudo-symphonic elements on this album to be sure. an example is the ballad "Forgiven" which is a bit too cheesy for my taste. But mostly, the power metal elements work well on this album, and one never loses focus on the heaviness of the guitars and the riffage itself.
I think that most fans of power metal will like "Watching in Silence" by Circle II Circle.
