AKROMA is a progressive and symphonic black metal band from Nancy, France. Akroma was formed following a chance encounter between Alain Germonville (vocals) and Matthieu Morand (guitars, drums, programming) in 2003. They decided to start working on a concept album about the 7 deadly sins. All the songs would be exactly 7 minutes long, and 7 guitarists were approached to add soloing parts to one composition each. Additional band members were brought in to finalise the main musical themes, including Julie Hénau (keyboards), Adeline Gurtner (vocals) and Nicolas Colnot (bass). In October 2006 the band's debut effort, Sept, was released on Thundering Records.
Founding members Germonville and Morand decided to set off with a second project, this time choosing to explore the Biblical story about the 10 plagues of Egypt.
