VOODOO CIRCLE BROKEN HEART SYNDROME reviews

Specialists/collaborators reviews

Stephen
VOODOO CIRCLE's second release, 'Broken Heart Syndrome', brought out the best of David Readman's vocal that resembles Coverdale's typical howl here and Alex Beyrodt fantastic guitar delivery. They bounced back and forth between bluesy hard rock and furious heavy metal and the result is applauding.

I can name some champions here such as the huge opening tune, 'No Solution Blues', which is like early WHITESNAKE got in fight with MR.BIG's heavier side; 'This Could Be Paradise' is a melodic heavy metal heaven with some neat riffs at the front; and 'When Destiny Calls', the best track here with a mindblowing melodic chorus, and still reminds me a lot to WHITESNAKE.

There are several average tracks here such as the bluesy 'King of Your Dreams', the title track, 'Heal My Pain', or 'Wings of The Fury', those aren't bad but won't be sorely missed if they're left out. However, the bluesy ballads of 'Devil's Daughter' or 'Blindman' are a treat to the ears. 'Don't Take My Heart' is also awesome and lush of beautiful melodies and 'I'm In Heaven' is such a great emotional song.

The production is also great, and shame on at least five weaker tunes that prevented this from going up over 80%, but overall, a pleasant release and I found it to be an enjoyable album and well-executed bluesy heavy rock record.
