Super solid early 70's proto-metal of the highest caliber. Features a very young Sammy Hagar (I've recently started liking him much more than I thought I ever could) being a more awesome front-man than anyone who only heard his later Van Hagar work would imagine. This album and it's follow-up, 1974's "Paper Money" are sure to please fans of the proto-metal. A bit less metal than "RockaRolla" and "Hard Attack", but hey, so is "Lonesome Crow." An album and band that anyone interested in what the earliest snapshots of the glorious force that we call Metal looked like, you know when it had big ears, a cowlick and a crooked, pointy toothed smile and very tiny horns, must hear.
