To Those Who Walk Behind Us is the 9th full-length studio album by Danish death metal act Illdisposed. The album was released in August 2009 by Massacre Records.
The music on the album is melodic death metal with groove. Not much has changed since the release of The Prestige (2008) and while the quality is high throughout the songs don´t really stand out from each other. The closing track Nu Gik Det Lige Så Godt is an exception with its Danish lyrics and high pitched raspy vocals. If Illdisposed thought a bit more outside the box like they do on that track their albums would be more interesting IMO. The Fine Young Cannibals cover Johnny ( originally titled Johnny Come Home) with death growls and all, is also a bit different from the rest, but not as succesful as Nu Gik Det Lige Så Godt.
The production and the musicianship are of good quality.
To Those Who Walk Behind Us is as such a good quality melodic death metal album, but I think the album seriously lacks highlights. it´s simply way too standard and safe. Illdisposed used to be the bad boys of Danish death metal, but over the course of the last 4 albums it´s like the band have grown up. It doesn´t suit them well. A 3 star rating is warranted.
