UMUR "Bathe in Entrails" is the 1st demo release by US death metal act Dying Fetus. The demo was self-released in 1993 on cassette tape. "Bathe in Entrails" features 6 tracks. 5 of those tracks were included on the "Infatuation With Malevolence (1995)" Compilation along with the 5 tracks from the "Infatuation With Malevolence (1994)" demo.

The music on the demo is brutal groove oriented death metal. The vocals alternate between deep aggressive growling and unintelligible processed growling. While there are blast beats on the demo, the music is predominantly brutal and ultra heavy yet groove oriented. The band are very well playing and the songwriting professional too. Already this early on Dying Fetus had a clearly defined sound. They would refine it a bit more on the next demo, but the music on "Bathe in Entrails" is basicially the sound of Dying Fetus as they´ve sounded throughout their career, just in a slightly more raw and immature version. The lyrics are a bit more focused on gore themes (which is apparent from song titled like "Wretched Flesh Consumption", "Vomiting the Fetal Embryo" and "Tearing Inside the Womb") than the more politically motivated lyrics of later releases, but that´s about it.

Upon conclusion "Bathe in Entrails" is a professionally produced demo by Dying Fetus. It´s well sounding, well played, and well written, and a 3.5 star (70%) rating is deserved.
