DARKTHRONE DARK THRONES AND BLACK FLAGS reviews

Specialists/collaborators reviews

UMUR
Dark Thrones and Black Flags is the 14th full-length studio album by Norwegian black metal act Darkthrone. The album was released in October 2008 by Peaceville Records.

The music on the album pretty much continue down the same path as the music on F.O.A.D. (2007). That means raw and simple black metal with lots of punk and traditional heavy metal elements. The production is raw but not lo-fi. The songs are very simple and don´t vary much in style, but that´s really no surprise now is it? This is as such kitchy like hell, but there´s a certain charm to the songs.

Dark Thrones and Black Flags isn´t the most exciting album by Darkthrone that I´ve listened to but if you enjoyed F.O.A.D., Dark Thrones and Black Flags are sure to please you too. For me this is a 2.5 - 3 star album.
