Nunslaughter and Abigail on the same release? This can only be good... and by good I mean fucking evil!
While the two contributions by Nunslaughter are more solidly placed in thrash metal territory, Abigail's two song's 'Night of the Reaper' and 'Violent Force' are more oriented towards black metal. Especially 'Night of the Reaper' with its emphasis on repetition and tremolo picking, while having a slight thrashy edge, is pretty much a black metal track. 'Violent Force' is more punky and aggressive, teeming with angry energy. Still, repetition is also a keyword here.
The production is raw and fuzzy, but that suits the raw music quite well. Abigail's contributions might be an acquired taste - especially if you are not accustomed to Yasuyuki Suzuki's squeaky vocals. However, if you like punky black metal with a touch of thrash, then you cannot go wrong with the two Abigail tracks on this split.
Together Abigail and Nunslaughter give all things that are holy a slap right in the face in the form of the massively evil split that is "Fucking Satan".
