It's been a while since there's been a new poll, so why not remake some old ones this time with a lot more choices.

Everyone will probably vote Black Sabbath anyway, but let's see if there's any surprises. LOL

great job, nice poll

Wishbone Ash's debut is one of my favorite albums so it got my vote.

I struggle with these polls. Yes there are two classic Sabbath albums, but also love Wishbone and Heep and Free and Rooster and Grand Funk and Cooper and Zep and Trapeze and ...sod it. Predictable but vote should go to Purple’s In Rock.

Paranoid takes it, for the songs Paranoid and my favourite Sabbath song War Pigs.

There's a ton of amazing albums here, but I ended up going with Lucifer's Friend. If only for "Ride the Sky" which is one of the greatest 70's metal songs ever recorded.

I love a bunch of albums on here but Led Zep 3 is my favorite just a bit before Sabbath's first

Tough one, but I'll go with Paranoid.

as usual, the famous bands will get all the votes. (BS and LZ).

^ they are the most famous for a reason. They endure. Doesn't mean many of those other albums aren't great. Just listened to T2 and that one is a real grower but kick ass

^ T2 is excellent indeed.

I was tempted to make a topic about lesser known bands from the 60s and 70s but there arent sadly many listeners of these two decades here on MMA, after all it's metal site... no offense :)

I’ve never heard the T2 album. Sounds like some homework for me.

I'm quite interested in music of other eras but i agree that the average metal head isn't as open minded as we are. I feel that metal is only one spectrum of reality and even though it's one of my favorite genres doesn't keep me from wanting to explore well beyond. I also never understood why someone who loves metal wouldn't want to at least explore the roots of their favorite music. I'm just a nerd i guess!

There's a ton of amazing hard rock and heavy metal from the 70's that too few people know about. I love searching for obscure and lesser known bands from the 70's, 80's, and 90's because there's not much new stuff that excites me.

I'll gladly contribute to a 70's hard rock/metal thread if you make one.
