^Yeah the new Hellboy isn´t that great and I loved the first two movies (probably some of my favorite superhero movies).
I watched this one last night. It was alright, but nothing special:

I got behind again:
Pretty good darkly comic drama. Great movie. More quirky than expected. Fairly average B-western. A 30s Howard Hawks genre-bended. Like a western in some ways, a gangster movie in others. Pretty good. This is weird. Not even sure if I liked it or not. Weird is the only impression I came away with on a first viewing. An old 30s 'horror' movie but watching it in 2020 only the final stages feel anything like horror as we know it today. It's alright I guess, taking in mind when it was made. Prime quality noir. Excellent western. A bit thin on plot but also not as bad as some say it is. It did have potential to be a lot better though. Weakest Conjuring Universe movie I've watched so far, though like the above I didn't find it half as bad as some have made it out to be. There are a ton of genuinely shit horror movies out there that don't get ragged on half as much as this one does. It's merely average. Compared to part 1 this was good but a letdown and didn't need to be nearly three hours long. But not as much of a letdown as this one was. All action that felt too silly and little substance. The end felt anticlimactic too.

I've watched a number of films since I last posted one here. Some brilliant, some pants:
The major highlight out of the lot in those lists is: Latest movie, not on a List Challenge yet, was: Oh man where do I start with this one? I thought the extra books by David Lagercrantz were actually pretty good, especially this first one, but this movie is a disaster on every level. It throws so much of the book out, changes character fates that completely ruins any potential follow-up following the next books (which may be a good thing based on this) and the casting is well off the mark. Blomkvist perhaps most of all (he looks far too young in this, even though the actor is in his 40s). Certain new characters aren't any better, especially Needham, who is badly miscast based on his book description. Near worthless movie.

^Never got around to seeing that, but always thought the concept of a first-person action film was really cool. Is it any good? Pizza Time. Honestly holds up pretty well, and I don't even really care about superheroes.

A long and boring pseudo philosophical Sci-fi movie. It was hard to sit through:

Hmm...I think they should have left it with the original. This sequel is entertaining enough, but it doesn´t have anything near the originals class and humour.

A post-apocalyptic vampire movie...hmm sounds interensting and there are some well executed Things in this movie, but overall it doesn´t do much for me:

Solid Hitchcock movie but not a favourite. Excellent neo-noir. I really enjoyed this one. I found Homecoming rather overrated within the MCU, but this one was excellent. An excellent anthology film. This was much weirder than I expected. It didn't wow me to the level of Get Out, but certainly cements Jordan Peele as one of the current visionaries of horror movies. I really couldn't care less about manga, but this is a pretty great movie based on one.

This was pretty good, though the later Dances With Wolves is a better 'white man integrating with Native Americans' movie. Generally brilliant, though it's overt racism in some scenes was cringe-worthy and very much a product of its time.

Good noir movie. This is the original and much more faithful to the source adaptation of the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House. I hadn't realised just how much the Netflix series diverged beyond modernising. I think I still prefer that to this, but this movie was pretty great too and it was fun to pick up on things that were clearly referenced in the series.

I'm not sure how accurate this is (they do outright state it's based on 'truth and lies'), but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie. I've never followed Mayhem that much so don't know their history as well as some might, but I thought it was an entertaining movie. Shocking even knowing what happened back then and with some rather brutal shots. I would recommend watching it.

Another S. Craig Zahler gem. Also learning something new every day, S. Craig Zahler is also a metal musician and we have a couple of his bands on MMA.
