I took a trial of a horror add-on channel on Amazon Prime and have watched a few films so far:
Troll Hunter (2010) - pretty decent found footage film. I find that style really hit and miss but I liked this one. Beyond the Gates (2016) - this was rather poor and I probably wouldn't have got through it if it was any longer. The Tall Man (2012) - this was wrongly branded as horror (thriller/crime would be more accurate), but an intriguing film that abruptly does a complete 180 part way through and you realise that everything you'd been shown so far wasn't what it appeared. It's not a masterpiece of cinema by any means but certainly a film that made me think and still has me thinking. Dead Shack (2017) - comedy horror with zombies. A few small laughs, but ultimately an average movie.

The Lost City of Z (2017) - very good historical film.
I also re-watched The Last Jedi yesterday. I don't think this film is as bad as some fans say it is but I also still think it has exactly the same problems as The Force Awakens, that being rehashing scenes from the original classic trilogy.

The Blob (1958) Steve McQueen looked suitably embarrassed as a 28 year old playing a teen, but otherwise, good silly b-movie fun! The special effects are awful, which makes this movie wonderful. |

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - I've always liked this movie, re-watched it a couple of days ago. Starring Donald Southerland, Leonard Nimoy and a young Jeff Goldblum and Veronica Cartwright (who'll star in Alien a year later).
My Sister's Keeper (2009) - a tear-jerker but a good movie anyway.

I don't think I've seen that remake. I didn't really think it needed remaking either, but I might have to check it out. |

there are 4 Body Snatchers movies actually, there's one made in 1993 called Body Snatchers and the one called The Invasion (2007) starring Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.

Some more recent ones:
For a Few Dollars More (1965) - enjoyed it even more than A Fistful of Dollars. Looking forward to seeing The Good, The Bad and The Ugly next. Bone Tomahawk (2015) - excellent modern western with a horror twist. Wayne's World 2 (1993) - Just as funny as the first. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) - This horror classic felt rather dated seeing it for the first time in 2018, but I liked it. Under the Shadow (2016) - Horror set against the atypical backdrop of the Iran–Iraq War of the eighties. Good, but I think I should maybe have watched it in the original language with subtitles. Something felt off about the English dub that Netflix defaulted to to me. Logan Lucky (2017) - Very good comedic heist film. The Limehouse Golem (2016) - This was another one of those films that gets labelled as horror when it really isn't, like Green Room that I watched earlier this month, but I thoroughly enjoyed this film in spite of it not being what I expected.

Lucy (2014) - good sci-fi even if it did play loose with actual facts about the human brain.

Watched this one with my daughter, who has begun to show an interest in slasher/horror movies. It´s just as predictable and bad as I remember (the dialogue was absolutely terrible). My daughter enjoyed it though:
