Solid, sometimes progressive, tech death, but something about their vocalist rubbed me the wrong way on their debut and I'm getting the same impression here. Bloody cool artwork though.

Listening to this one Again. I really think this would be thrash metal for you Adam, if you haven´t heard it yet. The vocalist is really strong. Sort of a mid-range Halford thing going on, but also some piercing high pitched screams. I personally really enjoy it.

I seem to remember watching a video by this band for this album. The vocalist rubbed me a bit wrong too. But I´m usually not that fond of "modern" growling vocalists. They are either too "core" influenced (which I usually hate with a passion), or they are completely unintelligibly brutal, which is usually not my kind of thing either.

Saved this and their next one to my Spotify. I remember getting a promo of the re-recording of No Place for Disgrace but I never bothered with it. Seemed likely to be a poor introduction album and who wants to read a re-recording review when the reviewer has no knowledge of the original?

Being core influenced may exactly be my problem here, not that I always notice these things since I don't listen to metalcore or deathcore all that often. But I did get into this one quite a bit before the end so I'd say it's a stronger effort than their debut. Might review, depends if the words flow or not.

Hey, do you guys think it would be okay for me to open another listening thread seeing as it's gone over 580 pages?

What's the point? There's no limit to the amount of pages a thread can have you know.

It looks like the last one stopped at 666 pages, so I always assumed that that's where it would stop.

If I'd had my way we'd still be using that original thread. A few people thought it would be cool to lock it at page 666 and it happened before anyone else had a chance to object. But there's really no valid reason to stop and start a topic when it gets big. I know some forums always archive threads at 500 pages but those are probably the same sites whose mods will have a go at you if you post in a topic that hasn't been touched for a few days. And yes that does happen on other sites. I myself got a strict telling off on Metal Hammer's forum once for replying to a topic that was only a few days old. Mind you, I also got ridiculed on said forum for saying Iced Earth was a power metal band and this was by Dom Lawson himself.

No apology required Thatcher. I've just always thought that the original lock was a pointless exercise.

Nah it's a good point. Maybe I've just been spending too much time on PA.

As a Christian I object to the first thread being locked at page 666. I insist it's re-opened immediately until it gets to at least 667
