Does anyone else know of albums that were middle fingers to record labels trying to meddle with the band's sound? Breaker and 2112 are the only ones I can think of at the top of my head, but I just love the extra anger that turns the energy up to 11 on these albums.

Dream Theater's Scenes From A Memory is an example of that as well: Their previous album had been greatly altered by the record label, to the point where it was so far away from their original vision, it ended up sounding like a total mess, so for their next album they said "screw it" to all outside influences and just produced the album themselves.
