Well, here are the albums I could scavenge up.  If I missed your absolute favorites, I do apologize; I think I covered enough ground here, though.

My personal vote goes to Part the Second because it's my favorite maudlin of the Well album.  Them being one of my all-time favorite bands it's a pretty self-explanatory choice from there.  Well...happy voting!  I'll be sure to write down all of the bands that I missed.

Tough one. The obvious choice for me is the Opeth album but I am actually very fond of Eluveite one too, in fact that's the only album by them that I really really like. I'll have to think on this.

I'd like to say Porcupine Tree, but I haven't heard all those albums.

First instincts say Damnation (I like it more than Still Life Evil Smile), but I haven't heard much of the other ones.  I'm interested in Empyrium's.  Is it any good?

Also, why Shadows of the Sun?  Why not Perdition City?

Well, it's just my personal taste and I do like Shadows of the Sun more.  The song "What Happened?" is one of my favorites by them.  Perdition City is definitely not a bad one, though.

And as for Empyrium, I'm not sure what you know of them, but the album I posted is very much like Agalloch when they have the acoustic guitar with the depressive vocals (but a different vocal style for Empyrium).  If that aspect appeals to you, I'd give it a go.  It's definitely a "sit back, relax, and enjoy the landscape" type of album.

Ulver could have several LOL I really love "War of the Roses" my fav of their non metal works by far.

Out of this list, probably Damnation.

Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and Testament. The real Big Four of thrash metal!

I've only listened to A Wintersunset and quite dig it.  My first listen to Empyrium was their song addition to the neofolk split called Whom the Moon a Nightsong Sings.  If that non metal album of theirs is like this, I'll probably dig it as well.

You forgot Metallica's Load TongueWink. Though in all seriousness, Porcupine Tree is hardly a metal band on it's own, at least all their albums I've listened to have been primarily alt/prog (FOAB, Deadwing, TSMS, The Incident, Stupid Dream).

I voted for Part the Second.
Lost respect for these archives when I saw Creed added, among other bands. Not going to be foruming here anymore. You can keep my reviews if you want.

Definitely going to say Damnation. I like all of Opeth's albums, and don't always get why some people don't like Damnation, I actually like it a lot.

Part The Second. I didn't take PT and KD into consideration though.

I've gone with SIG:AR:TYR - The Stranger. I'm actually really pleased to see such an unknown release in this poll. Clap

I say again that Damnation was the obvious choice, but re-listening to The Strange right now and there can be no other choice. This is really masterful dark folk ambient or whatever you want to call it. Wink

Well, adg got me interested in SIG:AR:TYR, so that's one more thing I'll have to listen to before I vote on this.

Been on a bit of a SIG:AR:TYR trip lately. Will likely have reviews for the other albums up soon. Great project, every release retains key elements yet manages to sound completely different.
