Ah, nice, another opportunity to post about Vektor! :P Since Somewhere in Time was mentioned, I think the cover of the Wasted Years single should be posted as well: Another favourite artist of mine: Michael Whelan (esp. known for his work with Sepultura and Obituary): ...and who can forget Ed Repka? Here, in his magnum opus in my humble opinion, his work for Megadeth's Rust in Peace: ...and Hangar 18: ...and Holy Wars: ...and a tribute to my favorite hobby, ie collecting metal shirts: First, the obligatory Vektor: and secondly, one of my favorite shirts in my collection, Anthrax - Road to Euphoria, special Mosters of Rock shirt. That's the NOT man being Judge Dredd. How awesome is that? :) There are tons more of sci-fi themes in metal. TONS.

By the way,
I'm on the fence about the "New" Eddie as well, I dont like the image on the cover but the one INSIDE the lyric sheet is MUCH better and is more reflecting of the Artists work of Melvyn Grant. Less "Cartoony" than the one on the cover . . . A LONG time illustrator/artist of Sci-Fi: http://www.melgrant.com/fantasy-index.html I know most of us miss Derek Riggs Art, but it seems The Boys in Maiden were a bit rough on him at times, you can see some "comments" in the lines-in between at his site: http://derek.server311.com/ Forgive, I'm a real big Sci-Fi/Fantasy Artist GEEK , I collect as many Books as I can afford! Its a love as much as I have for Metal and Prog . Edit: Speaking of "Reading between the lines", this is right up-front between the eyes . . . HA! Check this out!!! and AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! I have to deal with this mentality myself but Riggs and IRON FUCKING MAIDEN!!!!??? LOOK at this MASTERPIECE and read Dereks comment . . . that just astounds me : http://derek.server311.com/riggsart/Pages/maiden.dir/14fright666.html No matter what kind of money the Client makes, no-one wants to pay a full days wages for quality "work", thats work, skill, job, gig . . . geez. Hehe . . . THATS why you have to get into the lyrics . Thats what made the Arch/Matheos lyrics so unique than other Metal/Thrash and even Prog Bands until Sabbat (uk) came onto the scene with Martin Walkyiers lyrics . Yes! You are correct Time Sig, "He" is the "Traveler in Time" and the Character in the song "Exodus". Heres where it gets pretty brilliant, that "Gate" is where he Time Travels and you get to "Hear it", at the end of Exodus as the instruments "flange" in the fade-out, we then hear our character (Possibly "us") going through the Gate . Done in an interesting mix of Bass, possibly guitars all flanged, phased backwards and Drum effects (Keyboards?). . . . I guess I'm a hard-core GEEK to get all that when I purchased that great album soo many years ago. Just brilliant . As you can see, the "Spectre Within" Character is the same "Figure" on the "Awaken the Guardian" album (You see more of him inside/Lyric sheet). Part 1: Part 2: I hope to have time and add some cool Bands that have cool Sci-Fi/Fantasy Concepts with accompanying Cover Art soon . . . When I'm not soo damn tired .
