Can't stand Trump myself, glad to see him go, though looks like he'll be kicking and screaming as they drag him out. The arrogance of the man not to accept the democratic result is unbelieveable.

I resorted to calling him an idiot and a pathetic liar, but calling him arrogant is probably a better way to put it (at least a more diplomatic one), but it´s sometimes hard not to sink to his low level of communication. He rubs me wrong in every way possible... ...and I don´t even have to live in the country with such an embarrassment of a leader. I can´t imagine how hard it must have been for the 50% of the American people who didn´t vote for him, to have to see him representing your country for 4 years....I think I would have died of shame. Sorry I´m usually not that outspoken about politics, but my football team just lost again, again (5 minutes ago), and looks like they are facing relegation already this early in the season, and my son and I are shattered, angry, and frustrated. Trump is just the perfect target for my anger. I´m sure my wife agrees .

... he hasn't lost yet, CNN has no say in the matter regardless of what they think
the supreme court is investigating several states and this won't be over for a long time reminder that Florida took 2 months to declare in 2000 (which is why they cleaned their election laws up and weren't a shitshow like WI/MI/PA/NC/GA this year)
don't forget that you're getting all your information about Trump from a media class that hates him

No I´m forming my opinion from listening to him speak...that´s all I need to form an honest opinion that he is not fit to run a country. He lacks basic empathy for other people (his reactions are often similar to those of a 4 year old), and he is incredibly rude and unpleasant when he speaks to people who ask him critical questions or are in opossition to him. That´s not how a head of state should behave. Where is his dignity and basic manners? How would you react to someone speaking to you like that?

Regardless of what anyone thinks, the establishment hates Trump. Even if something like this is a legitimate "glitch", that still means that there should be recounts by hand, because obviously the software is faulty: The media is not your friend and only wants you to believe what they want you to believe, not the truth. EDIT: and before anyone tries to say "oh you're just saying that because_" or something like that. I would take issue with what's happening regardless of who it was happening to. There should not be any fishy business or glitches in the voting process.

As someone who spent quite some time in their professional life working in various news media, I can tell you all that your impressions that media are "against" people, or show political bias are quite wide of the mark. It's a journalist's job to present facts as they are, not to interpret them to fit a narrative.
Whatever your political bias as a journalist, it's your job not to show any when interviewing people or writing news stories. Many political reporters do not vote, so that they can maintain political neutrality. Unfortunately, there's no such restriction on opinion pieces, but it's sometimes hard to tell the two apart if they aren't labelled as such clearly. Opinion is not news. Blogs are not news. YouTube videos are not news. |

Once upon a time that was true, but journalism in the west in 2020 is argumentative, not inquisitive. Investigative journalism gets you fired.

It's still true. What you're referring to isn't journalism. It's opinion, spin, propaganda, whatever you like to call it. There are "news" outlets which don't deal in news, but there are still plenty of genuine ones.

You know as much as I love progressive music I absolutely can not STAND the community! Prog heads really can come off as irredeemable snobs at times!

I know what you mean. There is a reason I spend most of my time on MMA (besides the music) and not on PA, where I used to almost live. The forum on PA is loaded with people who think they are more clever than you and they are hellbent to let you know . It sometimes feels like stepping into a minefield and it´s definitely not a comfortable situation. I mostly avoid writing on the forum, to spare myself from ridicule and snarky remarks.

I don't know who upset you on PA, but the people you are talking about are still a minority, and for those people there's something called sarcasm that helps dealing with them. Or just ignore them, it's even worse for them. |

Yeah I guess should've said just ""some" and not in general. I'm sure many are quite respectable.

yeah I stopped posting on PA after I got a long ban there (since expired) because I responded slightly rudely to somebody that was directly insulting me, but happened to be friends with admins
