^I know it's still popular to hate on Creed, but I've always loved Weathered. Has some of their heaviest songs and some interesting ideas on it.

Same as ever, a completely middle of the road melodeath release from a band who can do much, much better.

This is good. Now I want to hear more lead electric cello in metal bands.

^Just got home from a dentist appointment and saw that one in my promo pool. Going to give it a listen in a few minutes. I love their debut, so hopefully this one delivers. I saw a 4.5 rating from you on RYM, and that's encouraging, considering you usually take longer to warm up to albums than I do. Also saw you voted it as power metal, so that has my hopes up that it won't be a minor letdown, like Pyramaze seems to be.

It basically feels like a continuation of their first album to me. A couple of spots of balladry in there but that's not unusual for power metal.

If anything, I think prog may be secondary this time. Need more listens to be sure, but this seems more power metal than their debut, if anything. Production seems slightly weaker than before, but otherwise musically it sounds awesome, vocals are as perfect as ever and the songwriting seems amazing, so it could be another 5 star album for sure. Definitely not a disappointment, thankfully.

I'm going to have to revisit their first one before I write a review for this one, but I'm feeling very positive right now, having just given it a second listen.
Now:

Hoping this goes better this time. I actually quite like the first two songs, at least.

Of my three main genres, prog is the one that seems to be lagging behind a bit right now (I was actually down on symphonic metal for a while last year, but my passion for that seems to have been revitalized lately,) so hopefully I can get that turned around soon. This one didn't impress me much on my first listen a while back, but hopefully it goes better this time. It has great musicianship for sure: I just hope the songs can grab me this time.
