Yes JMA is now up: http://www.jazzmusicarchives.com/
...and whats this with all the ponies??? I thought I might have eaten the wrong mushroom last night when I saw all those ponies this morning. Now thats bizarre!!! Now pictures of dismembered bodies and naked grandmas we can deal with, but ponies??? My goodness

A few days. I also have no idea why Max did not say anything about it here or on PA.
Because ponies are the best. |

There hasn't been any official promotion for JMA yet because it's at "demo" level. The database is probably at 5% of what it should be. They desperately need collaborators, but they don't seem to be very aware of that.

Well with the experiences we have here on MMA, it will become very apparent to them in a very short time that they do. It requires an enourmous amount of work hours ( and many dedicated Collabs) to error check an imported database while at the same time adding new artists to the database to keep it current and interesting for visitors. They are still in the formative stage and have to figure out how they want to run the site, so I dont think its so surprising that they may seem a bit unstructured at the moment. Once they form a base of dedicated Collabs who share a vision for the site, things will shape up like it has here.
...next step is getting active forum members, which can also be a long process.

Ive heard some talk about a Classical Music Archives but I dont know if its something Max and Phil are serious about launching or when if they are.

How about a Rock Music Archives? I seem to remember M@x mentioning that at some point.

It's so we stop annoying the Shred Rooms with pony, and so we can have a dedicated thread. New sig is new. Why does this appear at the bottom of the forum?

It would be interesting to see what kind of limits would be implemented in Rock Music Archives. All subgenres of PA minus progressive electronic, plus a gazillion other genres with multigazillions of bands? I too remember talk of Classical Music Archives, but as MMA and JMA are both just beginning, I suppose there will be a couple of years pause before launching anything new.
