i selected these bands particularely because they are standing as the most important influence for NWOBHM..Furthermore they played a huge part to what we call today heavy metal(as music and attitude)..so whati's your opinion guys??

Ooh, you've picked three of my favourite bands here. All released outstanding albums alongside some more mediocre ones. The best? Depends on the time of day and what your criteria is. I'm really struggling to choose here. Probably Priest if I had to.

Judas Priest for me. I like what I have heard from Thin Lizzy and UFO, but I never got into those two bands the way that I got into Judas Priest, who were one of my favorite bands growing up.

I've been meaning to get into some UFO for a while now, but no success yet. From Lizzy and Judas it's difficult to decide the better, but maybe I'll lean towards Lizzy a bit. Painkiller is one of my favourite metal albums and they have a crapload of other good stuff too, but Lizzy was just too good and consistent for a number of years. Jailbreak and Black Rose are my favourites from them.
UFO seems to have a bunch of pretty highly rated albums, any suggestions for a starting point? Edited by Pekka - 17 Jul 2013 at 12:28pm |

Thin Lizzy, though I like JP too, and UFO isn't bad either

As much as I love many of Thin Lizzy's albums - in particular Johnny the Fox - it's Judas Priest for me, no doubt. I was never into UFO although what I've heard by them is pretty good.

All awesome bands but it has to be Priest.
I only got into Thin Lizzy recently (past 10 years) and UFO even more recently that that, and they rule my world. Especially Lizzy. But Priest have been one of my main bands for the past 25+ years. |

All great bands but it has to be Priest who are the most consistent of the 3 too.

In the end, I voted for UFO, just 2 votes so far (mine included). Such a great band, the Michael Schenker era was amazing. Their last two albums are amazing as well.
