Watchin Dahmer. Great show, especially since I´m a huge Macabre fan.

I loved The Punisher. Dark, brutal, and raw just like I expected given the source material.

It was good for sure, and close to the source material for the character.

Yeah, this ruled. Easily the darkest, most brutal show in that universe, and it can still be incredibly wholesome at times, and as unhinged as Frank is, he's still easily my favorite character out of all these shows. I'm not sure I think a Season 2 is really necessary, tbh, as it would have been very easy to end things here, but other than that, this was near perfect.

It looks like an actor pretty much unofficially confirmed Jon Bernthal will be back as The Punisher at some point in Phase 5, in one way or another. I'm definitely hyped to have him return, I just really hope being owned by Disney doesn't cause them to tone his character down at all, because he works perfectly as is.
Speaking of which, that's perfect timing for that announcement, because I just started Season 1 of his series last night Four episodes in, and it's already absolutely obliterating anything else from that universe since at least Daredevil 2.

Nearly 45 years old, but still utterly brilliant informative, intelligent TV.

I actually thought this was brilliant, at least up until the finale. I usually get annoyed when shows alternate rapidly between being dark and being comedic, but this pulled it off really well, largely thanks to the nature of the MC, which really helped everything make sense. I thought the way it handled his mental illness was quite fascinating, and pretty much everything surrounding the character was amazing. The fifth episode in particular was some of my favorite Marvel story-telling ever, and obviously Oscar Isaac was fantastic the whole way through. Even the finale was setting to be fantastic, with some great plot moments and badass action, up until around 3/4 of the way through, where it felt like the writers pretty much said "Oh shit, we need t wrap this up in a hurry, let's just come up with whatever cheap bullshit we can and call it a day!" and left it as is. I do understand what happened there, and it made sense when it happened earlier in the season, but to pull that off in a big climactic sequence during the finale? NOPE Otherwise, though, I thought the series was fantastic, and that one disappointment can ultimately be forgiven.

I think the Punisher is quite brilliant. Darker and more violent than the other shows in the series.

Meh. It had some nice character moments, and I did actually like the finale quite a bit, but it took ages to really get going, and it felt like it was constantly stalling, with the occasional exciting bits interrupted by long stretches of filler. A lot of it wasn't even al that interesting either, and simply felt overextended, to hit a quota of 8 episodes, when the story had maybe 4-6 episodes of content, if I'm being very generous. I'm giving these a bit of a break, to try Moon Knight, and then I'll likely have a couple weeks without watching anything, but hopefully The Punisher will be better than these last few shows, lol

Cowboy Bebop the anime is fantastic. The live action series is a total shitshow
I'm halfway through The Defenders and feeling kinda meh on it. On the one hand, it is cool seeing everyone together, and there have been some good moments, but holy crap, 4/8 episodes in and it feels like barely anything has happened. I can get wanting to take time to build things up, but when 80% or so of the first half of a series feels like filler, that's a serious problem, lol I guess I'll see how I feel by the end, but so far it feels like it either desperately needed more episodes, or it needed to move a lot faster.

Well last week was the end of season one of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and I have to say that I enjoyed it. Their attempt to modernise Tolkien with diverse casting has not gone down well with everyone, especially among the Tolkien perfectionists out there, but it doesn't bother me. Plus it's somewhat amusing how their attempt to be woke has instead made them guilty of tokenism. The show has a few faults here and there and is very obviously working with a very condensed timeline to fit the TV medium, but overall I enjoyed it and looked forward to it every week.
Next week will also bring to an end season one of House of the Dragon. Enjoying it as well, but not as much as the best seasons of the original show. Also starting the concluding parts of the current seasons of The Walking Dead and Resident Alien. I'm also, now it's been a few years, re-watching Grimm. As well as the odd episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (re-watch) and Cowboy Bebop here and there when I have a shorter window to watch something in. Cowboy Bebop is the original anime series, not the more recent live action version. I'm not many episodes in yet, but enjoying it.

This is really fucking good. It shows up how piss poor the Tom Cruise movies were, and how wrong Cruise was for playing Reacher.

Better than Luke Cage/10 Yeah, it ended up being decent, once it got going, though I can certainly see why most people consider it the worst of these shows, since it's not very well written, the office scenes are terrible, the Meachums suck (especially Ward and Harold), and there's certainly a lot of silliness that isn't in the other shows. However, I actually quite liked Danny and Colleen (as well as Claire when she was around) and I found their stories interesting, even if a lot of the stuff around them wasn't great. The Hand were also pretty interesting here, more so than on Daredevil. Overall, it wasn't great, but I had a decent time watching it, and considering Season 2 is widely regarded as at least a slight step up, I'm sure I'll like it as well.

Been watching The Wheel of Time lately. So far it isn't bad but they've definitely made some changes from the books. As it is, I consider the books to be superior but it's still a damn decent show!

Yeah, this sucked. There were some parts here and there where it had me thinking it might get interesting, but every single time it turned around and just got more and more stupid, instead. Aside from Luke and Claire, I really didn't like any of the characters, especially the villains. Cottonmouth was bad enough, but Diamondback was unbelievably poorly written and acted. Worse, though, that finale may be the single least satisfying ending to a TV season I've ever seen, to the point where I'm in utter shock they actually decided to do it that way. I know there's a second season, but holy crap was that ever unsatisfying, insanely stupid, and just an outright insult. I don't even think this is a burnout, so much as this particular show just sucked horribly, but I don't expect things to pick up again for a while, since up next is Iron Fist, and I know that's considered an absolute masterpiece

Well, I haven't finished it yet (only 7/13 episodes in), but it looks like even the current, less burnt out version of me that's been enjoying the other Defender shows so far, is not having much fun with Luke Cage, lol It's frustrating, because I really do like Luke himself, as well as Claire and a few other characters, but the main conflict hasn't done much for me at all so far, with nearly every major character either not impressing me (Cottonmouth in particular got a lot of hype, but I don't get it, because I think he's pretty damn useless and not even all that interesting ), or just severely poorly used or outright botched. It's pretty telling that by far my favorite episode so far was the one focused on Luke's time in prison.

I actually think I preferred this over Season 1. I'm not overly fond of The Hand as the overarching villains, and they certainly aren't anywhere near as interesting as Kingpin, but pretty much everything else worked for me. The Punisher and Elektra in particular were both awesome, but I also liked all three main characters a lot more here than I did in Season 1.
